WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WEATHER AND CLIMATE?

Weather and climate are related concepts, but they refer to different aspects of the Earth's atmospheric conditions. Here's the difference between weather and climate:

Weather

Weather refers to the short-term conditions of the atmosphere in a specific place at a specific time. It describes the state of the atmosphere regarding temperature, humidity, precipitation, wind speed and direction, cloud cover, and other atmospheric phenomena. Weather conditions can change rapidly within hours or days. For example, if it's sunny and warm today but rainy and cool tomorrow, those are changes in weather.

Climate

Climate, on the other hand, refers to the long-term average weather patterns in a particular region. It is based on statistical data collected over an extended period, typically 30 years or more. Climate takes into account factors such as average temperature, precipitation, wind patterns, and seasonal variations. Climate represents the typical weather patterns expected in a specific area or region over an extended period. For instance, a region with hot summers and mild winters is said to have a "hot-summer Mediterranean climate."

In summary, weather refers to the short-term atmospheric conditions in a specific location, whereas climate refers to the long-term average weather patterns in a region. Weather is what we experience on a day-to-day basis, while climate describes the broader trends and characteristics of a particular area's weather over time.
